Public transport in Pilsen

Městská hromadná doprava v Plzni

Pilsenské městské dopravní podniky, a.s. provides most of the public transport services in the city of Pilsen. The public transport system in Pilsen consists of three modes of transport: trams, trolleybuses, and buses. The three tram lines form the backbone of the city's transport system, connecting the largest suburbs with the city center, the train station, and the bus station. Trolleybus lines play a similar role, serving all major suburbs except for the northern suburbs. Bus lines are an important supplement to the tram and trolleybus network, connecting individual suburbs with each other and providing connections to smaller city districts.

The vehicles of each of the three traction types are color-coded in Pilsen and, in combination with white, form a four-leaf clover of Pilsen's city colors - trams (yellow), trolleybuses (green), buses (red). Public transport in Pilsen is one of the most environmentally friendly urban transport systems in Europe – two-thirds of transport services are provided by trams and trolleybuses, which do not pollute the city's environment. In addition, thanks to the visibility of the rail and trolleybus network, every visitor to the city can see where the main routes run and easily find their way to the nearest stop. We wish you a pleasant journey on Pilsen's public transport!
