If you have at least a monthly public transit pass (PMDP or IDPK), you can ride a bike up to twice a day for 15 minutes free of charge.
Pilsen Bike is a shared e-bike service in the city of Pilsen. The e-bikes are designed for short trips around the city and are available to everyone.
All bikes are electric-assisted, equipped with a GPS unit and safety features such as automatic front and rear lights, fenders, a bell, reflective elements, etc.
In total, you’ll find 300 e-bikes in the city, which can be found at more than 150 locations.
You can rent a bike through the Virtual Pilsen Card app, where the Bikesharing tile becomes available after registration, or using the Tap & Ride service—by tapping your bank card on the reader on the bike.
You can rent and return a bike at more than 150 locations throughout the city.
Bike stations are marked on the map above and in the VPK mobile app. Each station has its own name and maximum bike capacity. The display on the bike will always guide you to the nearest one.
Park the bike at the station using the kickstand and end the rental. Always make sure the bike isn’t blocking the way or obstructing traffic (pedestrians, cars, other bikes, etc.), and that it won’t tip over on its own.
Instructions for ending the rental are on the bike sticker and on the station sign.
No. You cannot rent a bike using a plastic Plzeň Card.
Bikes can only be rented using a bank card or the Virtual Pilsen Card mobile app.
If you have a subscription (for at least 31 days) or free transit on your physical Plzeň Card, you can use 2× 15 minutes per day for free, even with bike sharing. However, you must have your account linked to both the physical card and the app. If you haven’t authorized your plastic card yet, register on the Plzeňská karta e-shop, add it as a “transport card,” and then call the info line at 371 655 600 to have it authorized. Then log in to the Virtual Plzeň Card app (using the same credentials as for the e-shop), and the Bikesharing section will become available to you.
A rented bike always has a red light at the back and a white light at the front. Before renting, don’t forget to thoroughly check the bike’s condition:
The end of the rental is indicated by the rear light, which changes from red to green and then turns off completely. Always make sure of this before you walk away from the bike, otherwise your rental will continue to run.
The display will also briefly show the trip summary (distance traveled and price). You will also be notified of the successful end of the rental in the mobile app.
You can end the rental by tapping your bank card on the terminal again, through the mobile app, or with a gesture: 3× press the right brake.
If you have at least a 31-day public transit pass (for the Plzeň zone or any Outer Zone in the Plzeň Region), you can rent an e-bike for 15 minutes for free, up to twice a day.
