Pilsen Bike Bike-Sharing – Important Notice for Users

In March, the Pilsen Bike electric bike-sharing service launched in Pilsen. A total of 300 electric bikes are available, along with more than 150 stations where users can rent and return them. This service has quickly become a popular mode of transportation. Every day, we record an average of over 2 thousand rentals, confirming that the service has a place in the city. However, along with this heavy usage, certain situations have arisen that need to be better explained to ensure the service is as user-friendly as possible for everyone.

Automatic Rental Termination

So far, the most common issue is the automatic termination of a rental, which occurs after 15 minutes of inactivity on the e-bike.
If you need to stop for a longer period of time, we recommend using the Pause feature in the Virtual Pilsen Card app.
  • During the pause, the bike remains rented.
  • The fee is 0,5 CZK per minute.
  • Even after 15 minutes of inactivity, the rental will not automatically end.
If you do not use the Pause feature (for example, when renting via Tap & Ride) and the rental is automatically terminated outside a station after 15 minutes, you may be charged a fee according to the price list.

Important Information

Usage
  • The bike is intended for people aged 15 and older (helmets are required by law for those aged 18 and younger).
  • We recommend that all users wear a helmet.
  • Always check the bike’s technical condition before riding.
  • You start and end your rental via the terminal on the bike or the Virtual Pilsen Card app. You’ll know the rental has ended correctly when the bike’s light turns off.
Station
  • The bike must be returned to an official station.
  • If the station is full, proceed to the nearest available station, which the bike’s display will guide you to.
  • An up-to-date list of stations is available on the website or in the Virtual Pilsen Card app.
Payments and technical issues
  • 1 CZK When registering via the Virtual Pilsen Card app, this serves as a bank card verification (pre-authorization). When paying via Tap & Ride, 1 CZK is always pre-authorized, which is then deducted from the final rental amount.
  • Caution when scanning the QR code – holding your phone too close may trigger a card payment on your mobile device.
  • You can report a problem with the bike via the Virtual Pilsen Card app, the web form, or by contacting our info line (email: bike@pmdp.cz, phone: +420 371 655 610).
Tips for convenient use
  • Follow the information on the bike’s display.
  • We recommend using the Virtual Pilsen Card app, which offers a pause option, an overview of station capacities, a summary of your rides, and allows you to adjust your reminder settings.
